Hello, I’m Alexandra Ranft the owner of Bare Naked Salts and Soap. At Bare Naked we use plant and mineral base ingredients, to create small batch all natural skin care products. One night I was bathing my son and read the ingredients on the back of his shampoo bottle. I noticed it contained chemicals with names I could not pronounce. I knew something had to change. I researched how to produce bath products using natural ingredients and began making aloe soaps.

My baby (now a toddler) at the time had suffered from a topical dermatitis that left his little body covered in red-itchy patches. I changed everything in the house trying to figure out what was causing this. Once I realized the baby care products, we are told are safe for our babies are not save at all, I started making my own.

As awareness grows around harsh chemicals in baby and adult care products, consumers are turning to all-natural alternatives. Clean ingredients are not a trend; they are a demand. People are reading labels and asking questions. As people turn away from chemical laden products, Bare Naked is becoming their go-to for clean, natural bath and body care. What began with soap for my family is now a full-time business.

Bare Naked is a woman-owned small batch all-natural bath and body care company based in Niles, MI. We pride ourselves on crafting handmade products from natural plant and mineral-based ingredients.

More people are aware of what’s actually in their bath products and they’re not loving it. In fact, 54% of U.S. consumers seek products labeled ‘natural,’ and one in three items sold is marked ‘clean.’ This is a full-on shift toward ingredient transparency.

To meet demand, we currently make 11 products including magnesium butters and aloe bar soaps, that customers do not need a degree in chemistry to read and understand. Transparent labels build trust.
